The Breath of Dawn by Kristen Heitzmann

I received this e-book from Bethany House Publishers through NetGalley.com for no charge in exchange for my honest review of this e-book. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Book Description:

Corporate turnaround specialist Morgan Spencer, dubbed the "success guru," has a Midas touch in business. But losing his wife sent him to the brink, and his two-year-old daughter, Livie, is all he's living for--until they encounter a woman whose trouble just might draw him out of his own.
Four years ago Quinn Reilly did the right thing. Now the man her testimony put in jail is getting out. Though she has put up barriers to protect herself and those around her, she has come to care for the Spencer family, especially the winsome Livie and her mercurial father. Unwilling to put them at risk when the threats begin, she requests something she hopes the super-successful Morgan might be able to deliver.
Fixing problems is what Morgan does best, but his counter proposal takes them in a direction neither is equipped to handle. Determined to confront the past, will they survive to build a future?

My Thoughts:

The Breath of Dawn by Kristen Heitzmann is part of her series Rush of Wings. It is the third book. I had the privilege of reading " A Rush of Wings", the first book to start the series and I was excited to be able to read "The Breath of Dawn" to have the continued story of the Spencer Family.  A Breath of Dawn focuses on Morgan Spencer and his life after the love of his life, Jill, was killed in a car accident.  Morgan and Jill had a daughter who is now two years old.  Spencer and Livie have been living with his brother and sister in law since the accident.  The house that borders the Spencer's goes up for sale and the daughter hires Quinn Reilly to go through everything and empty the house. Quinn is new to the area and no one really knows her, she stays to herself.  She is running from her past, in which she ended up helping put a man in jail for stealing money from the church her father ran.  But when she gets a threatening message from him, she finds out he is not in prison anymore and is after her.  Quinn meets the Spencer's and becomes involved with their family.

The Breath of Dawn is a great book. It has romance, suspensee, and faith all wrapped up in this excellent book.  This book kept me on the edge of my seat with the action and suspense.  I found myself unable to put this book down from the beginning.  Some of the characters were new and some of them were old friends from previous novels so it was a nice blend.  I loved the characters and how they interacted with one another and were real people. Kristen Heitzmann's descriptions of the details are so vivid, you feel like you are right there watching the drama unfold. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys suspense and romance.....you will not be disappointed. I look forward to reading more by Kristen Heitzmann in the future. I give this book four stars.
