Amish Prayers compiled by Beverly Lewis

I received this book from Bethany House for free for my honest review of this book.

Book Description
The Amish as well as other Anabaptist groups have used the same book of prayers for centuries. Now for the first time a selection of these prayers is readily available in English. This exclusive authentic translation from the original German--with an introduction by Beverly Lewis--will give readers insights into the spiritual foundations of the Plain people. Each prayer is paired with a Scripture passage to draw readers closer to God. This hardcover illustrated gift book is perfect for old and new fans of Amish fiction alike.

Amish Prayers is a nice gift book of original prayers from 1708 that is still used today by the Amish/Anabaptists that is in English translated from the original German Language. The translation is authentic and each prayer has a scripture verse added to it by Beverly Lewis. These prayers give insight to the true faith and love of God the Amish have. The prayers are like nothing I have ever read. They all have praise for God amidst the petitions to God. This book can be used as a gift or as a devotional for daily life. There are prayers from Prayers for a New Day, Prayers for repentance, and even Prayers for the Evening. This book is very special and am so glad to have it to use for daily devotions.
