A Fragile Hope By Cynthia Ruchti

I received this book from Litfuse and the author for no charge in exchange for an honest review of this book. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Book Description:

Josiah Chamberlain's life's work revolves around repairing other people's marriages. When his own is threatened by his wife's unexplained distance, and then threatened further when she's unexpectedly plunged into an unending fog, Josiah finds his expertise, quick wit and clever quips are no match for a relationship that is clearly broken.
Feeling betrayed, confused, and ill-equipped for a crisis this crippling, he reexamines everything he knows about the fragility of hope and the strength of his faith and love. Love seems to have failed him. Will what's left of his faith fail him, too? Or will it be the one thing that holds him together and sears through the impenetrable wall that separates them?

My Thoughts:

A Fragile Hope is the latest book by Cynthia Ruchti and it great! I have read other books by this author and this one did not disappoint. This book really helped me to look at my own marriage that has lots of issues. I found from the start that this book really grabbed me and kept me until the very last sentence. This book was so real and put out there situations and emotions that all couples face throughout the course of a marriage including - infidelity, loneliness, sadness, love, faithfulness, depression and faith. The troubles that Josiah faces in his faith, his mind, and in his real life were heartbreaking to read, but as he took it one day at a time and trusted God to guide his path. I found it inspiring and something to aspire to do in my life.  I found myself feeling many emotions throughout this book including anger, happiness, hopeful, and heartbroken. I cried throughout this book as it really spoke to my own marriage and struggles. Cynthia Ruchti's writing is fantastic, I always feel like I am there in the story, part of it.  The characters in this book are very well written and very real. I don't think I have a favorite character because they each had their own influence on me. I did find Josiah and Karin marriage and issues something I can full relate to. As I am having make or break situations in my own marriage, it was eye opening. I cannot say enough good about this book and this author. I highly recommend this book to anyone who reads Christian Contemporary Fiction, or just Contemporary Fiction, you will not be disappointed. I look forward to reading more books by Cynthia Ruchti. Definite must read. I give this book 5+ STARS and I can only hope my review really conveys the right message.
